The final photography assignment of the year was certainly a tasty one. I asked students to select an item they enjoyed the most for Ryers and develop an advertisement for that item. Ideally, the food photography would drive the advertisement and entice the customer into the store.
We learned about the basics of food photography and thankfully, we shot on days that had pleasant naturally lighting to enhance the food. The typography and image editing was less important than the quality of the food photographs. The graphic designer in me cringes a bit with some of the typography choices, so I will certainly reinforce so basic type rules next time I assign this project. Nonetheless, I am proud of my students!
I would like to thank Ken and the friendly Ryers staff for accommodating our classes. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful store so close to the school.
