Students in both Digital Photography and Drawing and Painting recently completed DDM’s (District Determined Measures). The single class assessments measure students’ growth in regards to the medium used and also the Elements and Principles of Design. These assessments are ongoing and students will be asked to complete them again in late April. Below are a couple examples of the Drawing and Painting DDM. Students were asked to use charcoal pencils to form trees within a 7” x 7” square. The composition should demonstrate an understanding of rhythm, balance, texture, motion, sense of mood and intelligent use of negative space.
Be on the lookout for more excellent examples of “DDM Trees” in the Main Street display cases.
